Are motorized shades worth it in Malibu?

Motorized shades pay off most on tall windows, hard-to-reach openings, and homes with sun-exposed western and southern walls — common in Malibu. Scheduling shades to close during peak afternoon heat reduces cooling loads, and removing cords improves child and pet safety.

Do your motorized shades work with smart home systems?

Yes. We install motorized shades that integrate with Lutron, Somfy, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, and Apple HomeKit. They can be voice-controlled, scheduled, or triggered by sun/temperature sensors.

How are motorized shades powered?

Most residential motorized shades run on rechargeable lithium-ion battery packs that last 1–2 years per charge. For new construction or major remodels we can also run low-voltage wiring for hardwired motors that never need charging.

What types of motorized shades do you offer in Malibu?

Roller shades (solar, room-darkening, and blackout), honeycomb cellular shades, Roman shades, and woven wood shades can all be motorized. We bring samples of each on your in-home consultation in Malibu so you can compare in your own light.
